unreliable narrator
*Tonight in my writing class* Instructor: Can anyone give an example of a work of fiction with an unreliable narrator? Me: Uh, the Bible?

He’s writing a book on the history of positive thinking. I bet he never gets it finished. (Seriously though, he was a nice guy.)

Yuppie thieves
My credit and debit cards were stolen on Saturday. I was able to stop my CC but not my DC (bank isn’t open after 2pm). I checked my account today and amongst the charges made were a number at Whole Foods. Weird.

I sometimes wonder if there’s ANYTHING bad in The Criterion Collection. Excuse the trailer, but it really was a good film.

I finished reading Mindy Lewis’ Life Inside. It’s an excellent memoir about living in a mental institution as a teen in the 1960s and then life after her release. It was quite moving and very touching. It was also incredibly descriptive and well-written. It was hard to put down and definitely one of the better books I’ve read in a long time.

I saw The Wages of Fear last night on the big screen. A remarkable, tense thriller. It seemed as though everybody was on the edge of their seat during the last half. Certainly one of the best films I’ve seen in forever, and just another reason why I love The Criterion Collection. Highly recommended.
